This is the first garage door opener I have been impressed by in at least a decade.  It has all of the modern features you could ask for. The motor configuration is tried and true –it has been in service for over 20 years with a proven record of reliability.  

LiftMaster’s new design is outstanding.  It looks like a modern appliance and makes about as much noise as a microwave.  If you lose power, the built-in battery backup will let you open the door a couple dozen times and it recharges when power returns.  You will never have to replace lightbulbs thanks to the built in 2000 lumen LED light ring that throws light into the deep corners of your garage.

The LiftMaster 87504 also has the myQ smartphone app, is compatible with Amazon Key, and even has a security camera that pops out of the bottom (you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to) of the motor so you can keep an eye on your garage.
